What Susan loves about advising is the opportunity to help individuals understand and achieve the financial goals that are the most important to them. Financial goals can change over time, and Susan especially enjoys helping her clients navigate the challenges and opportunities they face as their lives unfold. She views her work with clients as a collaboration where she brings her financial expertise to the table, offering recommendations and options and supporting clients as they make crucial decisions. Susan shares Tanager’s philosophy of developing strong relationships with clients and a deep understanding of their financial situations and life goals. She enjoys the challenge of working with the particularly complex situations of US expats living in the UK.
Susan has over a decade of experience in the financial services industry. She initially trained as an accountant, earning a CPA and working at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Subsequently, she received a certificate in financial planning from Georgetown University and has worked at an international asset management firm, Carlyle, and in corporate financial planning and analysis at Starbucks. She completed the UK Investment Advice Diploma (IAD) from the Chartered Insurance & Securities Institute (CISI) in 2019.
Outside of work, Susan enjoys exploring her new home and the rest of Europe, including hiking in the Alps, trying new sports like caving, and spending time with visiting friends and family.
