Summer Update 2023
Welcome to our regular update on the team at Tanager.
Tanager Team
As we continue to grow and build our team to support our growing number of clients, we are pleased to confirm the following new hires:
Peter Martin Collar – Investment Team – Research and Reporting Associate
Peter graduated from the Bayes Business School having obtained an MSc in Corporate Finance. Fascinated by the capital markets Peter is joining our Investment Team where he will make use of his strong skills in mathematics.
Gina DeCastro – Client Service Team – Client Service Associate
Gina represents something of a landmark for Tanager being our first US resident employee. With 17 years’ experience working at large US banks and RIAs Gina brings great experience to our Client Service Team and will allow us to help manage client account administration through US East Coast working hours.
We are always proud when someone leaves Tanager to further their career and personal development based on the training and development they have received here. Elliot Self left Tanager at the end of May to join a large UK wealth management firm where he will start his career as a financial advisor. We wish Elliot well in his new role.
Tanager In The Community – Tanager Fundraising Walk
Our Tanager Walks expedition was completed at the end of April, with our ‘Core Four’ team, friends, colleagues, and professional contacts completing five days of walking and covering 100 miles from Canterbury Cathedral to Southwark Cathedral.
We surpassed our fundraising target of £30,000 and would like to thank all the generous donations that we received. To read more about their journey, please read the dedicated insight here.
Tanager Talks Webinar Program
Many of you have been joining us for our regular Tanager Talks webinars. We are covering various helpful topics that we hope you have been enjoying so far. We will be continuing these as the year progresses, with our two main topics UK Pensions for US Residents and Financial Planning and Investments for US Citizens in the UK being discussed on a regular basis and calendar led and specialised topics to be included in between. These events are a helpful way to get some basic questions answered surrounding these topics, so please do submit them when signing up. To view our upcoming topics and fill out a registration page, please see our Tanager Talks page.
Additionally, our Investment Team presented another insightful Market Update Webinar for our clients, advising on our outlook for the coming months and discussing questions that were submitted.
Another exciting development is our new educational program that we have been developing as an extension of our internal Women at Tanager group. With this group proving to be beneficial for those involved, we decided to extend this out to the women in our wider Tanager community to encourage and educate American women investors living in the UK and to facilitate connections and build a community amongst our clients and friends.
Almost half of our advisor population is made up of American women who are also leading busy, transatlantic lives. We wanted to invite you to share in their insights and hard-won expertise. In this new series will be discussing financial planning and investing for American women in the UK. We will also be examining financial planning as a US-UK couple and the challenges of saving for children, so any women with American spouses or children will also find the sessions interesting. Please stay tuned for more information.
