Jeremy joined the Tanager team in 2019 bringing 15 years of experience in helping clients with practical solutions to complex issues whilst aligning their finances with what is most important to them. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment in the UK, as well as a Certified Private Wealth Advisor®, granted by the Investments & Wealth Institute in the US.
Jeremy comes to London via Cleveland Ohio and Miami Florida, having previously been an adviser affiliated with a FTSE 100 wealth management firm in London and senior wealth manager at a boutique wealth management firm in Miami.
Jeremy grew up and went to university in Ohio just outside of Cleveland. He started his career in banking and quickly realised his dissatisfaction with the adversarial relationship banks have with their customers. Jeremy decided he wanted to sit on the same side of the desk as his clients and made the move into financial advice in 2007. With the fallout of the financial crisis, he decided it would serve him well to move to a larger financial hub and relocated to South Florida to join an independent wealth management firm in Miami.
Jeremy spent eight years in Miami providing comprehensive money management for high net worth professionals, small business owners, doctors, entertainers, high profile sports figures and their families at the highest levels of private wealth management, focusing on retirement income strategies and multigenerational planning. Jeremy was senior wealth manager on a team of eleven managing $800 million USD in assets across 350 client families. He also led the firm’s financial planning team and was on the investment management committee.
Jeremy’s parents grew up in London having made the move to the US in search of the American Dream. As a first generation American and having grown up travelling to the UK frequently to visit family, Jeremy did not identify as strictly American or British. After years of planning, and in pursuit of a new challenge, Jeremy decided to leverage his dual citizenship status and make the leap across the pond to London in 2017.
Jeremy quickly identified the breadth of financial challenges faced by Americans and US connected families living and working abroad. There are no shortage of banks and financial institutions in the UK who would hire an American but relatively few who would open an investment or a bank account for one. This presented a unique opportunity to join a highly experienced team comprised of other US expats to offer customised financial planning and investment advice to individuals and families with the perspective of someone facing the same challenges.
In his free time, Jeremy enjoys early morning sunrise runs along the Thames and the occasional marathon. He also enjoys spending time in the mountains and hiking. His two favourite hikes in Europe are the Hardergrat trail in Switzerland and the Kjerag trail in Norway.
